In the framework of the 50th anniversary of the International Fair of Yucatan, the City Council of Progreso, presided by Eng. Erik José Rihani González, will offer an attractive program bringing the best of “Progreso in Xmatkuil” this Friday, November 22, which includes dancing, crafts, and dishes based on fish and seafood.
The meeting point will be the Teatro del Pueblo, where at noon the inaugural ribbon cutting will be held by the mayor and other authorities, at a party featuring a gastronomic display by 10 restaurants in Progreso, which will offer tastings and put on sale delicious dishes such as Aguachile, ceviches, cocktails, and fish fillets, among others.
In this event, 30 artisans will participate, who will exhibit and sell the best of their creations made from sea shells, coconut, wood, and other materials from the coastal area, which highlight the attractions of Progreso.
In the artistic part, there will be the participation of the Folkloric Ballet of the House of Culture, which will grace the day with music and typical dance.
In addition, as it is a special event, this Friday, November 22nd, all the people from Progreso who come to the fairgrounds will be able to enter for free, presenting their current official identification.
With this edition of “Progreso in Xmatkuil”, Mayor Rihani González seeks to promote the port as a tourist destination, boost the economy of service providers, and encourage the coexistence of Progreso families, in one of the best fairs in the country.
In this sense, Progreso municipal president Erik Rihani extends a cordial invitation to the general public to attend this event, to enjoy the best of Progreso at the Teatro del Pueblo, on a day that will end at five in the afternoon, but that will also allow them to visit the facilities and attractions that the Xmatkuil Fair has to offer.
