Hugh Jackman is weighing in after Martha Stewart’s viral claim that Ryan Reynolds is “not so funny” in real life.
“Finally someone says it,” Jackman, 56, shared via X on Saturday, November 2, poking fun at his Deadpool & Wolverine costar.
Stewart, 83, appeared as a guest on Bilt Rewards’ Rent Free game show where she was asked to guess which celebrities Bilt members believed would be the most fun to hang out with. (Bilt is a loyalty program in which members receive points for paying rent.)
When Reynolds’ name was mentioned, Stewart disagreed. “He’s probably on the list just because he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face,” she stated. “You want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”
Stewart’s dig quickly went viral, and it wasn’t long before Reynolds, 48, chimed in.
“I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once,” he shared via X on Saturday, responding to a Pop Crave post about Stewart’s quote. “The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”

During Stewart’s appearance on the game show, she also guessed that her BFF Snoop Dogg was listed as one of the most fun celebrities — and she was correct. The last person mentioned was Taylor Swift, who Stewart referred to as “lovely.”
In Stewart’s perfect world, she would “take Ryan off” the list and swap in George Clooney.
“He’s fun,” she added. “George is really nice to hang out with.”
Bilt CEO and founder Ankur Jain told Stewart that he was “surprised” about her feelings toward Reynolds.
“He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again,” she continued. “I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbor.”
This is not the first time that Stewart has brought up living on the same block as Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively. In 2014, the chef spoke candidly about her friendship with the 37-year-old Gossip Girl alum.
“I love it when Blake Lively comes over to my house,” Stewart said in a YouTube video at the time, which featured Lively. “You haven’t been over for a while, but you came for Easter and we had such a good time and so did your nieces and nephews and it was very fun to have you, and Ryan.”
