“We have prepared a team and coordinated with the NTT governor. The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno, will provide more details,” Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said on Tuesday.
He did not provide specifics about the aid plan for East Flores.
A coordination meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.
“Minister Pratikno will make the announcement,” he added.
Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki erupted on November 3-4. On Monday, the joint search and rescue team recovered nine bodies of eruption victims.
The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) reported that 1,403 residents affected by the eruption have been moved to evacuation centers, including nine fatalities and one person in critical condition.
The East Flores district government reported that eight villages in two sub-districts experienced the most severe damage from the eruption.
Herry Lamawuran, a local communication official, said the Wulanggitang sub-district was most severely affected, particularly the villages of Klatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Pululera, Boru, Boru Kedang, and Nawokote. Two other villages, Dulipali and Nobo in Ile Bura Sub-district, were also impacted.
The nine fatalities included four men and five women from these areas.
Several local airports were also temporarily closed due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, including those in Ende, Sikka, and Labuan Bajo.
